I have had my authorities for 17 years, I run 4 trucks with flatbeds with all 8+ years driving experience. I currently have progressive the standard 1mil liability and 100k cargo, and have had them for 10 years. but it seems rates just keep climbing so i was wanting to test the waters. any one recommend a good reputable insurance company that has solid rates and solid service. I am based out of north florida and run the southeast and midwest. Thanks

just find a agent who writes for several company's and let them do the shopping for you. my policy is written threw national casualty about 6000 per year with 1m automotive 1m general lib and 20k cargo full coverage one 1 semi for 30k 1 trailer for 30k then another trailer listed that's not really insured used to be but dropped the full coverage off of it last year but its still listed that i own it (older trailer worth probably 10k) sometimes ill have a non owned trailer for 30k on my policy sometimes i drop it off and ill move my cargo up and down from time to time as well.
down payment is normally a bit over 1k monthly payments stay around 500 and then i get a free couple months at the end of the year.SAR Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info... yea progressive wanted to jump my rates to about 13k per truck a yr due to them having me listed under commodity hauled as home goods .. when its actually miscellaneous..

I was with progressive for two years. Last renewal was $1700 down, 10 payment of $1300 or so. No accidents, or claims and no tickets in 5 years. This does not have physical damage to my truck. Just cover unspecify trailer upto 40k value (because i didnt own the trailers), and 250k cargo.
My quote went up to $1900/month if i had physical damage insurance on a new truck. That stopped me from buying a new truck.
A few years before i got progressive, my insurance from a different company was 625/month with $1800 down. This covers my $30k truck and $100k cargo. Progressive is very expense especially if you run more than 500 mile radius of your home base. I only got progressive because they were quick to respond, fast service, 24hr operation and have $250k cargo. I needed atleast $250k cargo for hauling cars. -
Progressive is a greedy company. On my third renewel with them, they wanted to raise my rates. I was hoping for a decrease in rates since i was with them for 2 years with no claims and no tickets. Enough is enough so I didn't renew.
