If this so-called tech spread the trap coils or removed the modulation limiter, then it comes as no surprise. Because when you do either of these, it allows the radio waste it's power on other frequencies versus the channel you're on. Even if the Dosy meter on the bench reads more, the sad truth is it's more....more harmonics that is. There's a reason they put the traps and AMC circuit in.

Of course it was snipped and clipped the average cb techs hourly rate is only about $20 a hour.. how much effort do you think their going to put into a radio ??????

Was thinking about trying a different antenna..was thinking about the wilson 2000, would it be overkill or should i stay with the firestick? Also is the onboard swr meter accurate after tuning?
