I'm applying for my own authority. Getting insurance quotes lined up first.
Who, do you guys with your own authority, have your insurance with?
How convenient was the process in getting started with them?
Did you ever have any issues with them?
Would you recommend them?
Any other insurance suggestions?
If I'm not asking the right questions, please inform me. Thanks.

Lol you are not lining up any quotes. Last I heard only Berkshire is taking new entrants right now. Consider yourself lucky if they take you for a reasonable amount
-
Do you want to clarify what you're talking about? Because I have no idea what you're saying.
-
He's saying insurance companies for new entrants aren't offering coverage. No idea what's going on with other states but it's bottomed out hard in Florida. For 750,000 auto liability and 100,000 cargo insurance the cheapest quote I got was $23,000 a year. One was even over $30 grand. Perfect driving, good credit.. hell with that. I know people with DUIs that pay $8000 a year with 1 million and 250,000 in cargo coverage. Should of got started sooner I guess. Only place I never called for a quote was OOIDA

Try truck-insure Lafayette Indiana. fair people and they broker for a few companies that take new entrants. Argonaut is one. I had to pay maybe 1500 down and 520 a month first year. After that first year you can get insured with a better company for less. If you are trying to insure for hazmat you might want to rethink your business plan. It will exceed mostly what beginners can recoop on the loads. Depends on what you will be hauling and the risks involved as far as pricing.
-
There are a limited few broker carriers that will not accept OOIDA insurance.

Just got my Authority and went with Progressive.
-
How much more would it be if u added hazmat?
-
I thought Progressive Was not taking new entrants. Did you get with Progressive this year?
-
I had Progressive when I purchased my truck a couple of months ago and leased on to Pam . Early this month I filed for a new Authority and told my agent and didn't run into any problems. I was told by other agents that it wasn't possible and Progessive wouldnt write me a new policy .
