1. Shouldn't have parked the burning truck under the bridge unless there was ZERO opportunity to move into a "safer" (meaning away from other structures) area.
2. The assisting driver, while he does get kudos for assisting, should have used a bit of good sense first. If you are going to assist in a burning vehicle situation, don't exacerbate the situation by placing your own vehicle in jeopardy! Move it far enough away from the current fire that it will not catch fire itself. Also, do not block travel lanes unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to preserve life. Always ensure plenty of clearance for proper emergency first responders!G13Tomcat, TripleSix and lonewolf4ad Thank this. -
Kinda ironic I posted this. This happened on I85 in Greenville,Sc. Then I hear about how a fire dropped a bridge in Atlanta. Someone else must have thought that it was a good idea to take a burning vehicle and park it under a bridge.
G13Tomcat, whoopNride and Lepton1 Thank this. -
Don't know any of the specifics about what happened in Atlanta but it would appear they are getting better with practice. Your guy didn't collapse the bridge.
As mentioned, no clue on the details, just assuming it vehicular related. All I heard was part of a blurb this morning saying it had collapsed and then a blurb about a half hour ago saying they are not rebuilding it, better get use to taking the by-pass. -
Strange that the press is silent on the cause of the fire.

Might be arson, or some crackheads pipe got away from him.....
