You've driven for 15 years and you chose to go to one of the bottom of the bottom feeders?
Please explain.Texas_hwy_287, TequilaSunrise, DTP and 11 others Thank this. -
Schneider is a mega carrier. They operate on volume. Your 15 years means nothing to them and lying to you is the cost of doing business. Schneider feels that lying is just an ugly necessary evil. Many companies lie or use bait n switch tactics. Try not to be too upset about it. You've learned a lesson. Megas don't value quality drivers with experience. They'll tell you they do, but they really don't. They like rookies who don't know any better.
Get with a small carrier with maybe 10 or 20 trucks. Nice rigs, nice trailers. Small companies are the way to go. They'll value your experience. You'll get miles too. Good luck. -
As a previous Schneider driver, I'll add my 2c.
They offer an apprenticeship program paying an extra 1.5-.8k a month, while offering 20% of military time as experience towards pay.
Which means a 1st yr driver, with a military background, can earn 55k+ their 1st year.
So why are they horrible again?(aside from lack of apu?) -
If you've driven 15 yrs why TF roll with Schneider? Or any mega for that matter?
Did 14 months with Big Blue to build my cred. I'm with a smaller outfit now... I'll be ###### if I'm ever going back. -
Go back and read his original post again....it's all right there.Texas_hwy_287, Voodoo Pyg and loose_leafs Thank this.

Why is this aimed particularly at prior military, rather than all drivers in general. Besides the VA appt, which anyone can have appts, what is the connection solely to military?
Lonesome Thanks this. -
It's this new generation.
Guy's like my Great-Grandfather, who served in WWI...and my Grandfather who served in WWII...and even my Father who served in Vietnam---all they ever wanted to do is "Forget". Not this generation....these guys want to make sure NOBODY forgets.Ooops, 91B20H8, Voodoo Pyg and 5 others Thank this. -
I'm thinking maybe his recruiter offered some sort of snake oil BS regarding special benefits Schneider offers to former military.rward75, Voodoo Pyg, Crusader66 and 1 other person Thank this.

I understand exactly what that Vet is saying. They should tell the new guys the truth don't sugarcoat it. Coming from the military you don't need BS.TequilaSunrise and rward75 Thank this.
