The trucks are top notch. they are eaton 10 speeds but servos and the computer shift for you, some still have a clutch that you use when stopping. The GPS is hit or miss, when it has you going through a city it can screw you. It put me in a residential nieghborhood in Ft. Wayne and brother thats one place you dont want to be. They have pre-assigned routes and if you go out of route a lot they will charge you $1.00 a mile for every mile out of route. Thier route is the shortest but not always the quickest. You'll find yourself running a lot a 2 lane roads when 20 miles to the north is 80-90. What that does is eat up your H.O.S.. It's a big company and they keep you running but the thats also the bad part of them. They have split the country in half using I35 as the split point, if you live east of 35 thats where you run and visa versa for living west. I live east (michigan) so I run east of 35 but 75% of my runs are in the north east and that gets old. A lot of big old cities that are not truck friendly, squared intersections and traffic up the wazoo. But they always pay what is due to you and you'll get home on the day you asked for and if you spot something on you pre trip and notify them it'll get fixed and when your on 95 outside of DC with 6 lanes of traffic going from 30 mph to a stop for 2 hours that auto shift is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Trucks are usually great, trailers are kinda hit or miss.

Trucks: When picking a truck up from a company terminal, take pictures with a date and time stamp on them. This is to cover your but when you turn the truck in. USX has a nasty habbit of passing damage from one driver to the next, and charging both for the same damage. When needing repair, try to get it done anywhere EXCEPT a company terminal. Every single time I had my truck worked on at a company terminal, I got it back in worse shape then I left it.

Trailer: Most drivers that I have had the experience of dealing with at USX dont know how to look over a trailer for proper road condition. Blown tires, missing mud flaps, missing/burnt out tail lights, blown air suspensions, etc. When doing a repower with another USX driver, make sure you check over the trailer that you are swapping with. I didnt do that once, and spent the next 28 hours getting the trailer fixed.

As always perform a PTI, pre and post, befor any trip (no matter the company). This prevents many headaches down the road, and after all, it is the law. :biggrin_2555:
