This is the last thing I am going to say about sleep Atnia I have a BMi of 35 and take high blood pressure meds my neck is a size 16 Walmart doctor is the only doctor that has ever said anything about sleep apnea Because I have a small neck no sleep study was required when I had to renew my medical card this year another Walmart doctor told me the same thing but this time my neck was 16 1/4 and she told me that if my weight stays about the same with my neck gets to 17 then a sleep study will be required

okay I think im going to pull the plug on the wm deal for right now. first i didnt know wm had a company requirement for sleep apnea beyond what a dot doctor says before I applied for the job. I thought if doctor cleared you for a 1 or 2 year. then you are good to good regardless of bmi charts. this beening the case i don't think i have the time to get a sleep test done. if im cleared of apnea by test thats great. but if not then I couldn't established the required cpap time frame to take physical in the next couple of weeks. plus if i fail my dot that day. it will affect my current 2 year card and my current job. hate to explain that to my boss. then it would be bye bye me cause i was looking to go somewhere else. so in the end wm cant hire me and my current job fires me. unless wm hires me with a 3 month card that was given that day and puts me through the test and machine if have to. then maybe i have a shot. but I heard too many times wm won't hire you with a 3 month card

question 2 is if i called the safety guy at the dc and asked him who pays for a sleep test for new hires. if he says we do then will wm hire me and pay for the rest if i get diagnosed with apnea or will i be on my own

The assumption should be the answer will be NO. Even if someone told you YES, there is no legal obligation to do so for someone who is not yet an employee unless you were given an employment agreement stating Walmart will pay for diagnosis and treatment prior to being officially hired.

I cannot answer what each individual DC is willing to pay for, but it really centers around how hard a time they have filling driver openings. I can only speak of what you will receive once officially hired regardless of which DC you are hired by.

As I have stated previously, it is really up to you as to how much you want this job and how much you are willing to do to get the job. If you are expecting someone else to do things for you, such as paying for any pre-employment medical testing, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Congrats on the Walmart gig. Have a friend who drives for Walmart out of Auburn, AL. He loves it.

Probably talking about the DC in Opelika, AL., which is the next town to the Northeast of Auburn. May have just been using Auburn as a reference. I tell non-Walmart people I work out of the DC West of Houston, since most people not living in this area have no clue where Sealy, TX. is. :)

Always sounds like you boys are working at a mattress factory when you say Sealy.

I know, right! It is easier to tell most people it is near Houston, albeit 50 miles to the West.
