    THIS!

I had a back injury 3 years ago that has left me with a herniated disc and chronic sciatica pain. Anyway, during the diagnosis for that, the X-rays and a physical examination showed that my hips had rotated out of alignment. The doctor that was treating me at the time asked what my profession was and when I told him that I was a truck driver, he asked if I kept my wallet in my back right pocket.

    I did.

He said that sitting on my wallet for excessive amounts of time had forced my right hip to rotate forward of midline and also caused my left hip to rotate rearward of midline. From that day I've kept my wallet in my front pocket.

I still have that wallet in that pocket and no real problems with the hip. The Colt on the other hand which is appendix carry in it's holster is a problem if I don't watch it.

My issue is bone loss that is expected in most elderly people 70 and above. I have enough of it in T1 through T12 something like 25 years too early. The entire load falls onto T12 and there are bad days because of that. I have not had too many comprehensive exams becuase my situation is considered irreparable. I also suspect bone loss else where in the body but am not going to run to the docs just on that. They require evidence first.

Thinking on my situation There are ways to fix the issues I have had over the years with other systems besides the spine. But you only have one spine unfortunately and that is what you get for better or worse.

I think part of my problem was also due to the fact that I have other back issues. In my upper thoracic spine I have slight scoliosis and then my dad who is 59 (I'm 36) has been recently diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, so I'll have to watch for that in the future.

Once I changed the pocket I keep my wallet in, I didn't get nearly as much pain or spinal compression when driving for extended periods of time. But again, that may be due to my underlying issues more than the wallet itself, but it may still be helpful advice regardless.
