SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, private fleets that are outside of fuel and chemicals are also becoming obsolete.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    Crusader66 and moloko Thank this.

Yes, it was explained to me at the interview that they are perhaps the last of the private fleets. I'm excited, but nervous. I was honest on my application, but they're doing such a thorough background check that I'm sweating bullets. I'll know early next week.

Hey Moloko congrats man thats cool, I hope you get the job, that is a sharp looking rig you posted, yeah that's definitely something you don't see hardly anymore, polished up fuel rigs with the big oil companies names on them Shell, Arco, Chevron ect, I always wondered why and what happened to those fleets.

Well to be honest the trucks haven't looked that nice in years down in LA. They still get washed and all just not polished anymore. They even use to get washed every week now only once a month.

    moloko Thanks this.

Haha, I noticed that they needed a good rinse cycle when I did a drive test. But still, it looks pretty prestigious with that 76 logo.

I've got a buddy who drives for them here in Oklahoma out of the Ponca City terminal. He works grave yard and pulls a tank out into the oil patches in N. Central Ok and loads freshly pumped oil out of those tanks you see off in the distance where you can see forever. Haven't talked to him for a little while but last time I did it was pretty much what has been stated here. Got all kinds of camera's and safety stuff on the truck, he works some funky schedule and he's making good $$$$, got good time off and bennies, he's been there about 8 or 9 years now.

    Good luck!

If you get a call from a 940 area code, it's Sentinel. It took me like 2 years of putting in applications, to tap an inside source and directly contact the terminal managers. Like any major, successful company. Human Resources will play gatekeeper with the key people.

Have you ever hauled fuel before? It's kind of rigid work when you are first learning it. I was deer in the headlights status for the first 2 months, and then you establish a routine. You do the same exact thing every time and then it falls into place.

They told me swearing isn't allowed in the truck because the camera is rolling all the time. This might be my downside, as I often scream, "You Son of a bleep, " when people pull out in front of me. That seems to be my signature, catch phrase lately. Or you call someone a horrible and derogatory series of profane names, only to realize you just cursed out a sweet old, grandmother-looking figure driving her Buick and her face barely rises over top of the steering wheel. Then you can laugh to yourself and say, I just called that old woman a bleepsucker.

I got the call 2 days later......it was a Texas phone number......

Guy asked me if I had any tankers experience, when I said no (I just have the endorsement) he said I would need "atleast 6 months"
