Not technically legal here in the US but no "authority" will ever check it so not a big deal to get around it.
Need help understanding "New" codes in Paccar engine.

Not for something so minor. There are a few "communist" states that do annual emmisions checks on ordinary cars. I don't think those are even technical enough to catch "illegal" ecm modifications or other upgrades. As long as you have a muffler and not blowing smoke you're fine. I'm not aware of any states that check semi's for such. But not my home state and never heard of any of the surrounding ones checking anything like that.

New Jersey does random spot checks of opacity/smoke tests. Probably some other states in that general region that do the same. Most other states live and let live.

I'm not sure what 'communists' have to do with checking the emissions of a car or truck. I do not know of any communist country where the environment is a very high priority, just look at the Chinese cities covered in thick layers of toxic yellow smoke. So if you don't care about the environment, you can shake hands with communists.
Emission checks are standard in the EU for cars and trucks, it's part of the yearly check. -
I care for the environment. I love the outdoors. I just don't care for onerous, unnecessary regulations or greenies/commies. Communists love regulations. Especially environmental ones. They're all green on the outside and red on the inside but don't really care about the environment. That's just a front. They know better than you and are more into telling you what to do and making everything cost more. This really isn't the place for that discussion though is it?

Yes communism is correct. Environmentalist and communists are birds of a feather. Mikhail Gorbachev is a famous communist who embraces the phony environmental movement. Communists embrace anything that controls and stamps out the individual. But again, this is not the place for that discussion. And apologies to OP for messing up the thread.

I would say that someone's right to have his car or truck belch out dirty gasses and soot, infringes someone else's right to breath clean air, don't you think so?

8mpg truck reduced 6 or less can't be better for the air no matter how they spin the numbers.. all we're doing it seems is move the stench to different areas when the truck decides to do a burn.. I dread when my paccar determines I have to do a burn at a truck stop the smell it emits is horrendous but if I ignore the warning and drive it will shut down ...
mhyn and rollin coal Thank this.
