I have been reading about your sleep apnea issue. My husband never had an issue with getting his medical card because of the size of his neck or weight (6'0", 285 lb). He applied to Wal-mart and got all the way through to the final step of the DOT physical. He was only given a 3 month medical card, because he was "a good candidate for sleep apnea" and Wal-Mart could not hire him. He went out on his own and had a sleep study done, which resulted in him having to have a CPAP. We could not afford it at the time either, the insurance paid part of the bill, but there was/is a balance we are responsible to pay. It takes approximately 2 months for insurance to process and pay their portion, then you get the bill for the remaining balance. We are making payments on the remainder. When he was turned down and then went to the sleep study, we were one payment away from foreclosure on our home and vehicles. We were behind on most other payments too. His interview at that DC was in early December, 2015. He came home and got the test scheduled and taken a couple weeks later. Another DC, close to our home, was hiring after the first of the year (2016), he applied and will soon be there 1 year. After 6 months of employment, he had a widowmaker heart attack at home and WM's short term disability paid 75% of his income the 2 months WM required him to be out of work. The insurance has been great and we are thankful to God that he went through the testing and got hired. I pray you make the right decision and if you don't go for the road test and physical this go round, do yourself a favor and have the testing, then try again. You won't be sorry......we are no longer behind on any bills, even after he was out of work for the heart attack!!
Walmart here I come!

That fast, huh. I am pretty skeptical of your claims considering the timing in which Amazon delivers (Friday night cutoff time for a Sunday delivery) and when I first discussed the pulse oximeter with you. Yesterday you kept saying you could not afford any such purchase. The only person you are fooling is yourself. Post a copy of the pulse oximeter report you would have downloaded from the device and maybe I would considering believing you. Until then, I say BS. As someone who has extensive use of a recordable pulse oximeter, I know exactly how detailed the reports are and what they show. Put up or shut up.Woodenleg Thanks this.

dude its never good enough for you. i have read almost 415 pages on here and you always pick a fight with someone. give your advice to someone and quit trying to make someone always prove themself to u. after all you been threw with your medical stuff and suing them because of ur stuff. stop being so judgmental. i only saw one on amazon that i wanted. i never said i order it.i went to my local med shop and got one. im so sorry i must prove everything to you. you finish on proving ur self to wm then you can start being my father.Last edited: Mar 21, 2017

I don't have sleep apnea. But there where 2 guys in my orientation class that did. I heard them talking about there machines and such. They said they had no problems when they went to get there physical at Walmart. They had all there records and there ducks in a row. They said there was no issues. So if you have sleep apnea you need to get treated now don't wait and play a guessing game. I use to work for a major ltl carrier before I came over here. They even had a program to help drivers with sleep apnea. Most companies now offer some type of treatment.
TomOfTx Thanks this. -
thk u. the problem is i dont have it or have ever had it. its just the wm neck and bmi requirements that may say i need study done. thats why i got the fingertip thing and gave it a try. im going to use it over the next several days and check track of my uploads. if all looks okay then i will fill more comfortable going to doctor and getting study done. the only sign i have is my neck and weight. i have always been big my whole life. I always had a 2 year card since 2004 and its always been at a chain medical examiner office. even the same place i got a new one last November and didnt have a issue. the dude on my shift half the size i am got popped for the study. i thk cause his age. im still under 40. his had heart problems also.

what truly sucks is that wm doesn't tell u upfront about the 17/35 on web or in details on application. I haven't even done the one on one pretrip or road test. background isnt started yet just phone interview passed thats all. i would only get this done just for wm. but haven't been given the job yet so im just affraid to jump the gun. if i fail any part of the next steps. then sleep study doesnt matter anyway. i guess thats called life

but i did forget to ask one question. because u got a phone interview and passed. does that mean you get to go to the dc for next step. or does the dc look over ur application then the gtm may choose to call you to come in for next step
