This right here.... That's your ####in problem... You do not have the capacity to show that you can stay clear. In my opinion, just hang it up and go flip burgers...

Yes you did. You posted in the open forum, that's an open invitation for everyone to comment. Had you actually searched on the topic, you'd see that there are literally thousands of posts on this very subject. You would have also noticed that this subject matter is highly frowned upon.
Don't like my answer.... Oh well.... You don't have the stones for the jobUsualSuspect and tscottme Thank this. -

I don't think a lot of people understand the SAP system. Last time I asked I was told it would be a minimum of $1,000. Anywhere from $400 to $600 for the actual SAP and the rest for the counseling sessions you MUST attend. Some SAPs will let you use AA but most want at least 10 hours of YOU PAY for group sessions. This is not something you can do on a weekend, and be leery of anyone that tells you otherwise. -
Hence the reason they do drug tests! Best advice get drug free get an independent drug test done, when your clean go and reapply.tscottme Thanks this.

That's still fairly cheap in comparison to not working. Around DFW it's can go as low as 300$, as long as you show up to the office each time for urinalysis. Group sessions and other follow ups are dependent on the clinical diagnosis. I had a coworker fail for prescription opioids, 4 tests over a few months and they cleared him for duty.(he did have to submit to a few more random tests over the following year). This was during the height of the Texas Shale though, I doubt many companies would rehire these days.

Even if the test in question is given to someone that's not an actual employee yet?

So you went through CDL School and got yours in December. With the intention of getting a job and an industry where a pre-employment drug screen is mandatory and you will be subject to random tests without notice. And after securing this you continue to smoke everyday up until February and then went and took a drug test and failed, is that the story?
Do you understand why someone might have trouble giving you the keys to $100,000 vehicle connected to a $40,000 trailer with God knows how much cargo inside it? Why they might call your judgment into question?
Good luck.nb629, joesmoothdog, SHOJim and 1 other person Thank this. -
The drug screen is FEDERAL. The requirements and regs are all federal. Failing a drug screen has absolutely nothing to do with the company you drive for. The Feds say you have to take a SAP before you can be cleared to drive a commercial vehicle.
Have you ever noticed that you can walk in to a Walk In Clinic, any one of them, ask for the drug screen, and they will all run the test th exact same way. How will they know, right? There are 2 things you need to drive a commercial vehicle, CDL and the DOT health card. Both of them are intertwined. Can't keep a health card, your class A reverts to a D. -
I just miss judge the time I thought I was clean like I really did a drug test knowing that I was dirty ####
