Just to let you know early in my day the weather server went down and nothing was displayed then a few hours later everything popped back on and it was all correct. Hopefully it's all fixed now.

    Mark,
Hubby thinks he figured this out. The 720 has done this again several times in the last month or two, and it was always when it had been in a cold area overnight, such as when he left the TND in his backpack in the car overnight instead of bringing it into the house. He tested his theory a couple of times by powering down the 720 when it wouldn't boot up, popping the micro SD card out, and holding it between his fingers to warm it up. After putting it back in, he hit the power button, and the 720 booted up like it should. He mentioned this to me today, and said that this never happened before the map update that required the micro SD card. Ever since he figured this out, he has been bringing his backpack with the 720 in it inside at night, and as far as I know, he hasn't had any more trouble with it not booting up. Is this a common thing, or do we have a sensitive TND (or micro SD card) that just doesn't like cold temperatures?

Thanks again for all that you do!

Let's not blame the Map Update for this. The Maps needed to be moved to an External SD Card due to the increased size.

Yes, different electronics will behave differently in extreme weather such as cold or hot. It all depends on how the manufacture tested and what materials they use. RM cannot be held accountable to the kind of SD card the user buys.

Also, the cold weather will affect the TND/Tablets. It is always a good idea after they have been left in a cold weather environment to let them warm up first.

The Weather displaying incorrectly has been resolved. Let me know if you still have issues with that.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Been doing yard work the last 3.5 years and getting ready to hit the road again. I have the TND-720 and when I was driving OTR it had a problem of spontaneously turning off or rebooting. Is there a fix for this? Would like to get it resolved before I start driving.

That has never been an issue with the 720. It sounds more like the Power Cord or the DC plug slipping out of the DC Socket.

Since you probably have not updated it yet, there is a map update, 8gb or 16gb Micro SD Card, do not use the Evo, Ultra, or Ultra Plus type cards. Class 10 is suggested. On the face of the Card is a number, that is the class, make sure it has a "C" around it.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Ok, just got an email about the new 740. Just wanted to see if you could give me a rundown of the quad-core processor that this one has so I can see it compared to my Tablet 80.

    Thanks!
