I've seen that Crete isn't known to have the best trucks when it comes to amenities, but I haven't seen any specifics about what they have. Can a current driver chime in? I'm considering applying there, but if the trucks comes with a bunk and that's basically all - forget that.

    Thanks!

Guarantee that it comes with at least 6 wheels, maybe 10. A couple of mirrors and a steering wheel too.
    :p

Smart ### :) if I'm real lucky, it'll have a bunk too haha

I'm mostly curious if they have good APUs, a fridge maybe? Or perhaps an inverter?

Check out Romans Motor Freight in Omaha. Smaller outfit that hires new cdl grads.

Trucks are ordered in distinctive super-hero lime green and black with the drivers comfort, connectivity and safety as the top priorities.
They have built in GPS, blue-tooth radio with XM/Sirius, Refrigerators, Pre-Pass, Automatics with Cummins power.

It's funny you mention Roman's. I saw a job ad for them and emailed the trainer. It sounds like a good, small company.

I think I'm just satisfying my curiosity with Crete and their trucks. From some of what I've read lately, I'm not sure that I want to go there. It doesn't sound like the company it used to be.

You can still make a good paycheck and also have driver comforts; no reason to sacrifice one for the other.

I'd prefer not to, considering how much time I'll be spending in the truck. I don't need a palace by any means. But I don't need a cardboard box on wheels :)

Any idea of freight lanes or starting pay?

I have one of the old internationals. Has a batter pack APu I think. I can get heat n a/c without idling. Also has some idle thing tho that like keeps fuel from gelling or batteries from dying. Qualcomm n ez pass for tolls. U can get the prepass out of ur own pocket. Think the new frieghtliners have opti idle. Beyond that, not many amenities. Think they'll put in an inverter up to 1000 watts iirc.
