@gokiddogo yep. I got my property assessment in the mail the other day. 35% drop from last year despite a housing shortage of 2500 buildings lost to the forest fire. I looked at my paycheque this morning and while the gross was the same as always, I netted $500 less. Fort Mac exists in sort of a bubble seperate from the rest of Alberta's economy so I can only imagine things are in much worse shape everywhere else.

Ok guys,I see to this conversation go on some other way.I only warning for training centre and we finish with Canadian economic situation.
I wish you all safe trip and good luck
-
I agree,Canada is great country but you not answer me from where your granparents come in Canada
-
My grandparents on Dads side: grandma born Winnipeg. Grandpa born toronto? Grandpa served in ww2 (underage to start) in the corvette boats - the ones that are smaller and protect the mother ship with supplies.
Mom's side:
Both grandparents emigrated here from Ireland. Grandpa was an anesatist. In Ireland at the time, there was often bombings and it was not really a safe place. He had a skill Canada needed at the time. They all spoke English. They merged into Canadian culture and left Irish problems in Ireland.
Truck driving is NOT a skill where we are in desperate need to import more drivers. Why bring more in when we have drivers here on welfare/other government aid? Does that make sense to you?
Edit:
Wow I really had a brain fart if you want to call it that.
Dad's "parents" (adopted) are what I posted above. I consider them my grandparents. His biological parents are both from Northern Ontario. He was 50% native. I never got a chance to meet my biological grandpa, from what I am told he was a wild, fast and loose kinda guy. Met my biological grandma twice before she died in late 2014.
I think that's about as clear as I can make it. Trying not to leave anything out.Last edited: Mar 24, 2017

I was hatched in a lab
-
I don't fault you for exploiting our system. I fault my government for setting the boundaries of said system. You are just the front line ...sorry.
I still think it is stupid to bring in more labor for a certain task and at the same time pay someone already here that is capable of doing that same task welfare to not do the job.orcen, nate980, Srbin and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have had many driver's from Donovan's here with no issues. When I hire a driver who has gone to any of the area schools, I ask how their experience was at that school. Donovan's gets high marks as does Gennaro, Capilano, Cameron's etcetera.
Did you pay for an accelerated course or the full meal deal? You have European experience already, I am wondering how you could fail?
Just because you did not pass their course is no reason to attempt to do damage to their reputation.
If I am not mistaken, the Department of Motor Vehicles conducts the road test anyway, don't they? -
I not speak about their course, I speak about their attitude at new immigrants.
I pass test on other school without problems.I was have previously trucking experience 14 years and took 10 classes, after that he allways suggested more 2 and after more 2 and wen I stop that and want to go on exam he pissed off and give me trailer with broken landing gear and I finish exam beefore I start and after that suggested me more 16 classes.I tell him to Iam not ATM,go to other centre and finish everything for 3 days with 0 points on road test, even I scan that and send with email to Donovan. In that moment I was bee new in Canada and dont know institution and regulations.Same examiner Bob Price bee on my test on boath centre.Afrer I hear how they cheating new immigrants.
Scheme is
ne large company bring drivers from Europe and they must go to Donovans no opporutunity to choice if some dont have enought money company pay and after deduct but in that moment start happy for Donovans to blackmail for number of classes.
I only wrote this to new immigrants know what to do,because everybody come with limited english, limited money in other part of world. If someone leave own home and family and leave all life and go to other part of world to work to make better life for his family thats people deserve respect no blackmail and cheating. -
What is the company? They should be reported to CBSA.
By the way, every Canadian trucking company bringing in foreign workers is operating a scam to rip off truck drivers.not4hire, orcen, gokiddogo and 1 other person Thank this.
