Wise man. You have people with far more knowledge that would provide a more formidable defense lol

My BF is dead set on becoming an OO. After trying OO with Celedon and litterly earning $30 the entire 3 months he was there I am very reluctant on him switching to OO again. It blew all our savings last time. He is currently on a dedicated route for Costco with Swift as a company driver. He was told he would be home every weekend, but I'm lucky to see him for 2 days twice a month. He came back to Swift in Dec. and isn't happy with the $300 paychecks he's been getting Jan&Feb. Now March He finally received a decent $870 after taxes paycheck. But that was running nights from 9/10PM - 6/7AM. Avoiding DC traffic. He has pretty much already made up his mind to go OO But I'm not convinced. He just started getting decent paychecks again. But if he switches to swifts lease purchase he won't be on a dedicated account. At least any time soon.
Is switching to OTR and signing up with the lease purchase program THAT much better pay?

He could clear, after taxes, over $50k or more a year, working about 42 weeks, if he knows how to run his business.

Or if he doesn't know what he's doing, he could be lucky to clear half that, working every week of the year.

What I've seen is that guys with a boat anchor at home struggle in this business, regardless if they're company or o/o.

Does the load board usually have loads that are 1000+ miles?
