Anything wrong with this securement?

    Nah the engine. My 93 w9 has a 3406b with the peek arrangement. It's a royal pain. Electronically controlled fuel and cruise. But not a true electronic engine.

    At that point they might as well just get some rattle cans and go for it. It wouldn't look good but it would at least all be a similar color.

    I've got 3 older guys I hang around with. 1 in his late 80's, still goes to his shop and welds everyday. He doesn't set any production or speed records, but he'll still work on most anything and has forgotten more than I'll ever know. The other 2 are in there 70's. 1 is a tree guy and the other runs a street sweeping business. When I hear the term boy or son or young man from one of them, I know it's time to pay close attention because I'm about to get some valuable information. To me, it's an old hand wanting to pass on his hard earned, hard learned knowledge, and he feels I'm worthy of sharing it with. They mean no disrespect, it's just the generation and the way they are.

    Where I grew up "young lad" was what was common. I started working part time when I was 11 and I certainly got my share of ribbing. Probably 9-10 years of being the young lad were a lot of good years. To this day I always like working with older men. They can teach you everything if you'll let them.

    I have one older friend in particular. I think 74 now. He'll help you with anything you want. Just finished a '69 Chevelle. When I'm home I try to see him, if there's time we'll do supper. I usually grab the tab and don't mind. He likes to cruise Main Street to look at women so that's usually the way we go home. It's funny to me to be driving 25 mph and getting told slow down so he can get a better look.

    I'm not for sure now because TN made some changes at the first of the year but it used to be $35+ court cost ( usually $90) for a OS violation in TN.

    I won't lie, in the past I have just ran with a OS local move when it was a rush move or the permit office was dragging their feet. It was just cheaper to pay the fine than wait for the delay. Now they will put you out of service until you obtain a permit but we never got caught.

    I haven't checked on the fines but TN went way up on permit cost starting January 1. It wouldn't surprise me if they also increased the fines.

    Here's what I found for TN but it may be outdated and not current to the new regs started Jan 1.

    Overdimension Only: $25-$105 + court costs.
    Overweight Fines: $25, plus (1) court costs (ranging between $40-$90), and (2) $.03 per lb. for the first 3 percent over, and $.05 per lb. for the remainder.

    As you can see, overdimension isn't much at all, but they can really nail you for overweight.
