So after I moved half way across the country, I am finally starting at TMC! On my way to Des Moines now for a Monday start. Pumped up and can't wait for it all to kick off. FYI TMC hooked us up with a pretty nice rental car. I was picked up by a guy from Jersey and we have a guy to pick up tonight in Ohio. Just 3 of us with plenty of time to get there. I will keep you posted as I progress through the CDL program.
Highway Sailor and morpheus Thank this. -
I went thru CDL program back in Jan and was with trainer throughout FEB. been alone for a month now and my 1 st check was 1007 even though I was guaranteed 1000. my second check was 1187. 3 rd week check was for 995. These are gross figures. takehome was about 100-150 less than stated. Good training and good company.

We made it to Des Moines! Hotel is great. Was lucky and was able to room with the guy we picked up from Ohio, he is a pretty good dude. The room has a mini fridge, 2 nice queen sized bed, and an old Tube TV. But hey it's actually funny to see the tube. Been years since I watched TV on one. The staff at the Hotel are on point and super friendly. All the TMC drivers I have met so far are super friendly and very helpful. They have been given us new guys some good advice. What I have figured out so far is that as long as your an honest person, hard worker, and pay attention to detail you will do just fine. It's crazy how friendly everyone here is. So far so good, off to the hot tub now!

Day 1 is in the books. Went well. Won't go into much detail, due to signing a form that says you won't discuss things. What I will tell you is that it all starts right away with a DOT physical and a urinalysis (drug test). Following that you do the physical test, which is picking up a 120lbs tarp and conducting a series of movements with the tarp and a loaded trailer. It's a busy day right out the gate and be prepared for a very strict code of conduct. And yes it's true, STAY OFF THE GRASS! Again everyone I have met at TMC is fantastic so far. I will try and keep everyone posted as we continue, that is if I don't get sent packing haha. Also some things I will not discuss due to signing said documents and don't want to risk my own future career. Feel free to send questions.

Well I made it! Headed home now to meet up with my trainer! What an awesome experience!

Well you have been pretty quiet with all the secret squirrel stuff. Good luck

yeah sorry about the secret squirrel stuff haha. It was just a really busy class, and didn't want to risk getting the boot before I even had a chance. I leave out this weekend with my trainer.
