Do u drive for LS?

 

Now Land Star is no good??? What am I going to do now???

 

I think Landstar is what you make of it. Some successful, some not. Trucking is a rough business. If you are smart enough business wise and not carrying too much personal debt, you can make it. Don't save a penny and lose a dollar because of it. If you watch the pennies, the dollars take care of themselves.

 

Yup. It's always important to control expenses. However, the real leverage in making profit comes from the revenue side. Load selection and good planning will make a huge difference in gross revenue. This skill will make all the difference.
You can save a few bucks on the expense side. But... you can earn an order of magnitude extra on the revenue side.

 

I was at LS back in in 2006 and 2007. I had a wreck that wasn't my fault about 6 weeks in. Totaled my truck. It was a high value load too. I figured LS would can me but they stood right beside me. I bought another truck thinking the I'd get my money I lost from the woman that hit me. WRONG!!!! I lost my tail!!! Got to having problems with the second truck and I had to sell it. It is what you make it. If you're a driver that expects someone to call and give you a load, you'll fail at LS. I ended up on a dedicated run. It's all about the relationships with the agents. I'm thinking of buying another truck and going back to LS.

 

We're u able to make gd money while getting home often?

 

Lets see, first its apparent you did not grasp there system! Second, like the other driver said probably a large truck payment and using there trailer. That wont happen!!!

 

Trucking is not welfare. If you are a broker and have a load that a driver will take 65% to haul are you going to say " No No! Take 90%, I insist!" Stop whining about what is not fair in your make believe world and strive to be the guy you are jealous of.
