This time of year, boat haulers come thru my little area of the world, and bottom out on county road 314 where it crosses state route 42. Look it up .. Moron (Morrow/ Sorrow..lol) County, Ohio... I've stopped a few lowboys in the years passed, and showed them how to circumvent the dang pavement hump in our stupid arse corner of the world..... and run a couple of 2-lanes around the mess.
And no, there IS no signage...... and nothing shows up on Google Maps/Streetview, etc.. I'd show you, but I dont' know how to post it from the tablet to here.
Dam Q ~ what a friggin bad day. Sorry, man. At least I "tried" to help with learning how to secure them. ####.

I learned a while ago..... if I hear it dragging it's too late. Do. Not. Stop.
DDlighttruck, Dye Guardian, quatto and 8 others Thank this. -
^^^ As I stick to my tanks. Y'all have TOO many issues to circumvent, accommodate, permits, pilots, etc etc etc. I did it on the off season for 4 years. Money was fine, headaches were not.
quatto, johndeere4020 and rank Thank this. -

You don't carry dunnage? Back in my towing days if it would do less damage to drag them back then forward, we would go back, then drive or winch forward on wood blocks to get the clearance needed.
I've watched videos of tow truck drivers getting trucks out of predicaments like that with nothing more than a bottle jack, some blocks, and judicious use of the leveling valves/dump valves.passingthru69, DDlighttruck, quatto and 1 other person Thank this. -
#####. Yep, got me (a lot of us) there..... iditards~!rank Thanks this.

I wonder if you could add an air over lift like we have on stinger car carriers. I have a switch on my dash to add air to bags to get over obstacles.quatto, wore out, rank and 1 other person Thank this.

Yes. We had them on both our trucks and trailers (extendable, lo-pro step decks) hauling frameless shacks so we could pick them off and set them on blocking.quatto, Ruthless, rank and 1 other person Thank this.

That Limo and train thing was strangely satisfying. Bravo, to those that welded that thing together, I expected much worse.
Also, like casper said the leveling valve will get you couple more needed inches. In potentially embarrassing situations like thus described, disconnecting the valve is time consuming. The leveling valve link is very flexible and a strategic bungee can have you back in the cab with less embarrassment.G13Tomcat, magoo68, quatto and 1 other person Thank this.
