Large buses like the big motor coaches are heavy enough to rate your class A by weight. Throw in a P endorsement means you can carry more than 15 souls in commercial work. (Paying passengers)
I had maintained a P for a while but discarded it after a interesting interview with a regional bus carrier that did not go well due to the owner's discriminatory issues. (Deafness.) I appreciate what the bus drivers must do to work and all but it's not for me.
I would not spend a bunch of money just getting one endorsement in trucking school. If you are going to trucking school, then go all the way with all the other endorsements as well.
Having a CDL also prevents you from nicky picking car or Pickup loading, towing issues. You can do things with it privately that otherwise would be a ticket for being outside of weight limits for the passenger car license.
"P" endorsement
