Pickup went smooth(!!!), spending night at TA just north of Erie. Moving out early. Need to balance need for swiftness with need to conserve fuel. I could do this whole run at 68mph and get there early but if I poke along at 60 in the granny lane I'll set a new record for fuel percentage for the week. And I'll have more money to spend on The Hot Chick when I get home. (Guess which way she's leaning on this issue?)
A warp this conundrum is that I'm bouncing off my 70 and have a short day coming up soon. I guess I'll hypermile as much as I can while keeping a close eye on my eta and my recap and do the math continuously. I'll change up to max performance if/when I need to in order to preserve service.
I thunk truckers was supposed to be dumb, and here I is all cypherin' and able to brain.
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

Yeah--I can do this run and probably make it back most of the way to Indy on what's in the tanks now. Things have improved since they did the overhead PM and alignment, and they went bad before.
Now if I could just get that $#&@!! transmission to behave at low speeds.... -

Gonna be a day late getting home. Last load delivers Monday morning in Elkhart. Nothing to be done about it. Guess I need to schedule home TWO days early from now on. I don't like being forced to take extra time off.

My father passed away this morning. He was one of the first Green Berets and seemed immortal and omnipotent to me for most of my life. He had a massive stroke right after he retired and they told my mother he wouldn't last the night. That was 34 years ago.
