It is nice, came out of Arizona where there was a surplus processing center, it was used until 1963 there and sat until it was sold in 1998 to the guy he bought it from a couple years back. That guy put the artic kit on it with the gas heater.

    Glad we could help.

The trucklite lights are made specific for trucks, they are not super bright but they do the job, and they are made to DOT specs, that's another issue but I won't go there.

I am gunna try the JW's. A buddy of mine has a set and really likes them. The Maxima's are a pretty nice light but, the noise is making me nuts. Actually the JW's aren't as pricey as I remembered when looking a couple years ago.

I hear ya on the DOT thing !!!

That stuff is a pain. I've got a set of of halogen under-counter lights in our kitchen that tear up a couple of ham bands when they're on. My Quadratec LEDs on the Jeep, OTOH, are completely quiet, thankfully.

Most of these power supplies are crap, maybe replacing the halogen power supply with a linear one would solve the issue, most of those lights are 12 volts.

Craig, your hid lights are actually illegal unless they are factory, but that said these are also really noisy and the nice ones are expensive. The rand units we tested were crap, go get a garmin - why not trust the company that is trusted by everyone else.

The power supplies do indeed suck, I charge my phone and a power bank overnight, then run the phone down and if needed plug it into the power bank. I have yet to find a USB power supply that doesn't spew RF, at some point I'm going to build a linear mode supply.
