Yes sir..This is the best,legal,safe way,however Ive been to Howell,Nebraska.Missed my exit now,Im looking at turning around 53' with 20 2500 lb skids of fertilizer.Oh ,No whats this ahead? A 10 ton limit Wooden Bridge going over a Creek,and a farmers driveway with a galvanized drainage pipe with a Ditch! Were talking Gravel Roads.

 

Its kind of a touchy subject with me so here is a bit of advice.

Don't think that just because you can make a u turn that you should.

In some areas, there is a hidden no u turn sign, there is a reason for it, so watch carefully for those signs.

ALSO the last thing is don't expect people to be patient when you cut in front of them, I surely am not when a driver sees me and then makes the turn when I am going down the road at 55, I don't know what his intentions are and don't really care so wait or find a place to turn around - I say this because this morning there were two of us on the road and a Canadian driver sitting in the other lane with his four ways on just turned in front of us, I saw him when he started to move, the other driver didn't and flew across the road into the other side of the road to avoid hitting the truck. SO PLEASE don't expect people to stop and show us what you are going to do.

I will only do them if I will not effect anyone else's right of way 4 sure during the process and I am certain I can make it with room 2 clear all curbs and objects with a single turn and no backups. But stop and put the hazards on and look at a map 4 a safer and easier out it best option. I think in the last year I can only remember doing 1 and it was at night with no cars either direction and a huge open driveway at the turn 4 extra cushion

 

Agree totally. Had a guy in a hopper pull out in front of me and another truck on 287S last night. We had 2 drop from 70mph down to 30mph while he turned then took both lanes before finally getting in the right lane. And there was no traffic behind us. My absolute pet peeve. Agree totally sir

@Boattlebot ... pulling a tanker, it's mostly a no-no. As @Ridgeline, I've done it once, when all other options were exhausted. But not like the above video.
Pulling a tank, your center of gravity is different than vans and flats, and actually makin a U-ey empty could be worse for us.
