A friend of mine just put this on Facebook. It was from 7 years ago in wabasca but still funny...... Here's a good example of why my ujoints weren't getting greased.

This is a company truck, not mine.

Average service life of non greasable is actually longer.

The end caps seal MUCH better, keeping water and contamination out of the lubricacated area, extending average service life.

Nothing is perfect but the non serviceable joints are a upgrade option not the standard.

Happened in bfe West Virginia a few months ago pulling out of the pilot. Just had it serviced at a Petro a few days before so skipped my regular greasing that weekend. Last time I don't crawl under myself and check

What kind of grease are you guys using on you're trucks? Any brands better than others or is it a personal preference?

I run this one. I went with the extreme pressure because I just didn't feel other greases were staying in place enough. I can use it bumper to bumper and it's so good that when I grease my 5th wheel plate and hook to my trailer, I can literally see a small gap between the 5th wheel and trailer with a grease cushion.

Ya basically. Pulled out. Was at stop light 2 make turn onto big road and accelerated and bam. But still puts the thought of could I have saved the down time and extra expense if I would have done my normal crawl around that weekend and noticed a crack or cap or anything abnormal. More then likely not. But still

Put buckets on. Cut a bucket right down the middle and v notch it to go over the yoke. Keeps the grease from flinging up through the cat walk.

You didn't learn anything. Keyword:average. The megas only servicing a truck every 50k miles and all these new breed owner iterators that don't know what a ujoint is let alone how often to grease it bring the average down. This 03 with 1.2 million miles on it has the original ujoints and greasable suspension parts. All just as tight as the day it left the factory.
