So how I'm interpreting this so far is that the CDL permit test is pretty darn easy. Is that a correct assumption?

Could someone give me some examples of questions that are on the permit test?

Oh, also, about how long does it take?

Is the permit test at the DMV multiple choice much like many of these practice tests or is it like the book where you need to come up with the answer yourself?

In my state it is done on the computer and it is all multible choice. When you get to the passing percent say 80% the test is over even if you do not get through all the questions.

My state is the same as Headed Out's. Once you have the minimum passing questions answered, you are through. Thats the written part of the test and it is the same for all endorsements too.

I remember seeing almost all of the SNI questions on the California test. :biggrin_255:
They look just like the online test on the SNI website.:yes2557:
I don't know ... how fast are you at taking tests? I took 150 questions and my picture during my lunch hour but I would imagine that is not typical? ... :biggrin_25525::biggrin_25522:

For Califonia the CDL portion was 50 questions and we also have to take the regular driving test again .... another 50 questions .... then airbrakes at 25 questions and combinations at 25 questions ....... doubles/triples, tankers and hazmat will cost you another 25 a piece I believe... :biggrin_25524:

However... that silly test is nothing compared to the approximately 140 point pre-trip inspection test that you are going to have to rattle off in about 30 minutes of non-stop talking .... took about 6000 words to get through it from my estimation! :biggrin_25521:

    Muliple Choice

My test was a fill-in the dots type of test. Every question had 3 answers to choose from. Everything I needed to know for the test was in my CDL guide I got from the state.

Biggest problem I had was the questions REALLY had to be read well. They tried to mis-direct you with funny wording.

Same here. Thanks, everyone. My nerves will be a lot calmer tomorrow.

Multiple choice will be no problem for this. Just have to read the questions carefully and ALL the answers before answering. And shoot, considering all the endorsement tests are basically the same method, I'll have all this done before I even get my CDL!
