Maybe try MCDONALDS they have different shifts and there is likely 1 within walking distance of home!

TRUCKING involves being away from home when you first start out.

Do your stint get the experience then look for the local job with good $ and normal hours.

HOME TIME , HOMETIME is all you hear newbies :biggrin_2553: about , and when you ask them what they do at home , gee just lay around and chill or hang with the gang.

Do not lease with them unless you want to loose everthing.

I was a student at prime a couple months ago and my trainer was lease operator so i can give you a little inside scoop. I stayed out 5 months with my trainer and since we developed a good friendship he used to show me his pays every week. There was ONE week where he made $3200. but that was a particular week. most weeks were on the $1200 range. some were exceptional for $2000. there were weeks with $600 checks too. Considering that out of his income was taken off $500 to pay me. so, i guess you can add those $500 for your paycheck. Oh yeah, the week the truck broke down, his check was negative, that was 3 days off. I don't know how was his check the week we took off in June. That was our only week off thought. I can tell you for what i've experienced if you add my check plus his, the avg would be on the $1500~$1700 range. Can't forget the slow months jan-feb-mar. Don't forget that you have to pay your own taxes too. Hope it helps.

You are kidding right? You are going to sue them because you don't know how to drive in the snow and ice? How is that their fault? If you can't drive in it just park it and wait for spring.

Going to have to agree with BigKid If you know you have never driven in snow or ice time to slow it down or park the truck till things are safe from what I know of Prime if you communicate with them about dangerous conditions on the road then there is nothing to blame on you. If you are never are going to drive in the snow or ice you are never going learn most training grounds don't put snow or ice on the pad for you so you get your check mark. Driving in bad conditions comes from on road expierence not in class, No disrespect intended bpope.

    Good Luck and Happy Holidays!

PRIME SUCKS!!! All they do is turn out drivers like they are herding cattle. They don't care about you at all. They have to be the worst company in the trucking business. They will take so much money from you check you'll wonder if you have to start paying them soon.

Just my 2 cents worth. I read the last couple pages and noticed the negative posts were from 0-1 yrs exp to the trucker wanna be's. I dont hold beer for them, but I do read them, my own personal opinion is go to your local truck stop and ask the drivers for Prime "whats the scoop" or "what do you think of Prime" and get real (mostly) story and of course ask "how long have you been with Prime"..? Every company is good and bad, and not every carrier is good for all... Just ask your self: What do I want in a carrier? One week out? 4 weeks out? Regional or 48 States? Company or Owner or Lease? Just do your home work and NEVER jump into a lease deal or just another company because one driver or one post from the internet message board said so! Have a happy holiday and drive safe.:biggrin_25525:
