whether you have to unload or not. What have you guys or gals run across in your millions of miles?

I don't remember how long the trip took itself, but it took all day to unload the trailer.

RE: To smoking in a Schneider truck

If you are not hauling a flammable placard load then yea you can smoke in your truck. Of course I don't work for them just going on assumption's here. There is NO law to keep you from smoking unless you have a flammable placard load.

a trailer load of pallets that had bags of "powered rubber" going to a goodyear plant. i don't remember where that plant was, don't remember how long it took me to get there. but i do remember tipping the scales being heavier than normal, and i had a typical lousey spec'd company truck. some of the bags of "powered rubber" broke open, and my gosh, the dust it created when the forklift guy was unloading the trailer, not to mention the never ending "rubber" odor that we could never get rid of either.

i had to buy several cans of coffee and spread it all over the inside of the trailer to kill the rubber odor, as i was then going to pick up some "downe products" from a company in connecticut, and they thought it was "fish" that i had been hauling. yeah right, fish in a non refridgerated van trailer.........

what a pain in the ### that whole scenario was for the few days i had that trailer......

when my dad first started out over 50 years ago he hated fertilizer bags, 50 pounders and a trailer full of them to off load by hand!, or carrots to NYC that were refused then sent to PA and by the time they took the load the "juice" was running out the doors...YUKKK:!:

Round Bales of Alf-Alfa hay picked up in Lewis, KS going to a Dairy farm not to far from Knoxville, TN. My rear Tarp came off somewhere in St. Louis at 3am so there I was on the shoulder trying to roll the thing up in 20degree weather with traffic whipping by, then it starting snowing. Well if you have ever hauled hay you know that it will freeze if exposed and almost double in weight. Not fun explaining to the scalemaster why I was grossing 120000lbs That was a nightmare. Needless to say I refuse to haul hay anymore!

The worst load that I hated hauling was a paper load. There would be those big brown rolls in my trailer laid over on the side to keep from rolling.

They are ALWAYS heavy. Paper mills stink too. You know if you live near one….

The BEST load that I ever hauled was a load of empty plastic bottles going to a bottling plant…. Talk about light load…..2300 pounds load from floor to ceiling and front to back….That was like a dream load……..
