Every company has that. If you can't drive ,it's best for everybody including yourself that you don't.

    MGASSEL,
I got a bone to pick with you.
Where do you get off ASSUMING what was said or wasn't said ? Your ignorant retort to what I originally posted only shows that you are a loud mouthed moron that jumps to conclusions with out all the facts being known.

May did not lie to you about getting your own truck twice the way that they took your complaining about the truck was a refusal to take that truck so they kept routing you to the next avalible truck.
May has certian trucks assigned to certian terminals that is they way that they work.

You have NO way of knowing how the conversation went. I DIDN'T complain or refuse. I did what I was asked to do. They DID lie about it being my next truck though. They just needed it moved from TN to Pensacola.

Also in orentation they ask you if you smoke or not if you would consider going out with a smoker. I do not smoke and I refused to go out with anyone except a non smoker. You may have not been paying attention in orentation when they asked that and you may have agreed to go out with a smoker

To assume that I wasn't paying attention during orientation is a HUGE leap there bud. You DO assume a LOT. And I did NOT agree to going out with a smoking trainer. George NEW what he was doing when he sent me from Salem to Layton to hook up with my trainer. HE claimed that he didn't know that the trainer was a smoker. I called him and THAT was when I agreed to go out. Otherwise, I was offered a bus ticket back to Salem to wait for a trainer. I CHOSE to stick it out.

I know the terminal manager in denver and he would of not sent you out with someone that you did not agree to go out with.

There you go with your pathetic assumptions again..........this all happened out of Salem and Layton. I am detecting a trend here friend.

Did you expect to get a brand new 387 or one of their new freightliners? I do not think so not beeing a newbie.
All companies will give you a older truck incase you tear it up by not shifting properly,or just getting in a wreck in it.

Who said anything about wanting a NEW 387 of a freightliner. I was actually happy with the truck they gave me. I DID NOT complain about that at all. Again you assume too much.

Just because you graduated truck driving school and passed the road test does that mean you are a great driver?

???? Who said anything about being a GREAT driver??? I KNOW i have a lot to learn. I was VERY enthusiastic about doing so when I was seated in the truck they gave to me.

I verry highly doubt that you found a local gig with having no experince.

ONE LAST TIME YOU ASSUME TOO MUCH. I did find a local job, not the greatest, but it IS local.

In conclusion, you would do well if you didn't attack someone with out all of the facts. You make stupid, un-informed assumptions and then spout them off as being the true scenario.
The OP asked where he should go, I gave him an account of what happened to me, it is up to HIM to digest and glean from the information what he wishes.
To attack me and infer that what I said was not true or that I wasn't paying attention show your true nature. You are a complete fool that spouts off too much drivel without knowing the facts.
I appreciate that you may be a company man, thats an admirable trait, you have loyality, too bad you make a fool of yourself and May trucking by shooting off your big mouth without knowing what you are talking about.

Well next time please post the whole story we can not read between the lines.

The way that I look at picking up trucks is atleast it is work and it still gets money in your pocket.

The truck in tennesse was probaly going to be yours but I am assuming that you called in and told them about the way the truck was left by the other driver that is most likely when they had you take it to pcola.

About orentation May tells all drivers to check their permit books before you pull out.
If something is missing or expired you are to ask for new ones before hitting the road.

I was not attacking you just mearly responding to your post.

I do not think I am making a fool out of myself or may trucking I am not currently working for them right now but will most likely be going back.

I had issues with the layton terminal and the peoiple that worked there.

I think my old driver manager got fired because she could not keep drivers for too long.

I am not trying to stick up for May Trucking I was only posting from personal experince and knowledge of the company.

I will not argue with you as far as I am concerned it is over.

I agree that it's a rather unique experience at May.

My first truck was assigned out of the Denver yard. The first thing I did was suggest that maybe it should be cleaned out first... not much in the way of litter, but the previous driver never cleaned the carpet. Crumbs, chips, and whatnot everywhere. Couldn't even tell what color the carpet was.

Dan (Terminal Manager) had the cleaning guy in my truck in less than 2 hours.

Eventually, got to swap that truck in for the current 379. They routed a driver with a load on to where I was, and he carried me and my stuff to the Payette yard, where I picked up my current truck. No complaints at all - though I've had a couple service calls in this past week (Bad alternator, then less than a week later, slagged starter - but both were original equipment on a 2005)

One thing absolutely good about May - on occasioon you are given incorrect or incomplete local directions - these things happen. If you submit corrections, they update the files for the next driver. (I just checked the shipper I am hauling for now - original directions were way wrong. Now, they reflect my input)

I may not have a job, come Monday when I get back to Denver - but can't blame May if that's the case. I am the one with the OOS and wreck (buggered trailer door hinges) in one week.

I work for Werner, I know nothing about May period. Can't comment, I don't really want to seem like pushy toward Werner. I will just say I came here out of school, have been happy here, and would not quit without a long serious line of thinking. Miles? Yes. Home time? Fair. Pay? Not the worst not the best, but I get it every week with almost no issue. Had couple of pay issues they were all quickly solved.

Take it for what you will, if you want to ask me something go head, I'll answer.

how unusual is that? positive outlooks from drivers of TWO companies on the same thread?

Me, from what I know and what I've been told, I'm pretty sure Werner and I wouldn't get along for sour beans, yet IROC loves it. Bet she'd hate at May as much as I like it :)

So, I'll second her comment - if you have questions, ask. I might be a little slow in
answering - when I'm on the road, sometimes finding a place to get online is difficult.

You should be fine danny will not fire you for the oos and the little damage to the hinges.
He may make you watch some of those booring video's again and take his logbook test and chew you out a little but fire a decent driver I do not think so.

this is supposed to make me feel better?

"I used to team with my hubby, but he stressed me out so I killed him. Let's team!"

Yeah, boy howdy! I'm gonna jump at that! :)

In all honesty, though, I appreciate the implied complement. I'd just as soon not do teams, though. My make-up (my sleep patterns) would kill me before you had a chance to :)

Mgassel - True. Problem is, it wasn't up to Danny. Heard through a third party that overheard the conversation that he argued with Brooks, but was overruled.

I still have nothing bad to say about May, though.
