to make this simple, I have three options. I cant decide:
    1. Stay with current company, continue to be company driver at .40 to .43 cpm with bonuses.
    2. Stay with current company...lease their 2013 kenworth t660 isx15 (500K miles on odometer) for $49,000 plus $5618 due at end of three year lease. Total of $800.00 a month lease for three years after significant down payment. Company will pay $1.00 per mileplus approximately .23 cpm fuel surcharge.
    3. Go to new company, drive their older 2005 Kenworth t2000 cat15 (1.4 million milles on odometer) with option to buy after a few runs for $9000 cash and paying 78% of load.

If anyone had to pick between the three and you had no other options, what would you pick?

Explanation of your answer would be appreciated, but not necessary. I am tired of trying to figure this out on my own. I need some input and fast. Thanks everyone.

If you can't figure it out on your own I would stay where you are at.

    Option #2 stinks. No way!

Option #3 is nothing great. I would need to know what kind of rates and miles to be able to even start looking at that option. This is not something to take lightly or in a hury. From the time I decided to become an OO it took 2 years plus and I have 20 years in the transportation management industry, can perform all my own mechanical and am secure in my personal life.

If you have to ask then you are not ready for #2 or #3. No shame in it.

    Good luck

#2 is out in my opinion. The pay package sucks at best. And I would never lease a truck from a company that gives me the loads.

#3 that's a helluva lotta miles on a T2. Its only $9k and if its had a recent overhaul might not be a bad way into being an O/O. If it's never had an inframe done I wouldn't even consider it.

#1 is looking like the best option of the three.

Times 2. If you can't figure out the math on your own along with being a business owner in the future, STAY AS A COMPANY DRIVER.
OPTION 4; go find a union driving job.

Option 1 is the best of the three...absolutely.... and even that option kinda sucks, but you're getting paid with no financial risk to you.

    The other options suck.

Option 2 you won't make anything more than Option 1 at that kind of compensation.
Option 3 you COULD make decent money, but it's likely you'll spend that much and more when the truck constantly needs repairs and you don't get paid when you're down.

    I'll edit this post:
Option 3 could be good - and Oscar is right - it's a lot of miles - but only $9,000.
If you had wanted to go option 3, I would drive it as a company driver for a month, see how the truck does, and if you think it's okay, I'd just buy it outright, and make sure I had $40,000 in the bank for when it decides to go down. If you think you can keep it maintained and are willing to keep up on the maintenance of it, and keep it for as long as you can, I might do it.
But be prepared in the 1st year to be pouring a lot of money into it. Eventually you might spend altogether $60,000 by the time it's pretty much considered an overhauled truck, and you could rake in some profit if you can do it right. If you can find decent paying freight. It's not easy to do that.

    Option 2: no way

Like stated before the rate is horrible. You would never be able to stop running like that.

More info is needed for option 3.

I think your best option is 1 right now! Why such the rush?

I'd go option 1 but if you're really determined to be an O/O then option 3 but only if the trucks is decent.
