Well it is one measurement of the front end of the radio but not the only thing that needs to be as good as possible to give good performance. That alone won't make the ratio despite what some say, the rest of the radio from the mixer back has to be taken in account.

It had to be opened up at some point or it wouldn't work as a cb. It is a 10 meter radio and has to be converted to work as a cb.

Was probably already converted and put back in the box....before he even got there.... alot of shops who sell a lot of radios do it to all the radios that need converted.......saves them time down the road.. Bob in Richmond hill does it that way usually.........

Before you go speand $$ on a 10k..Try cheaper things to see if indeed its your antenna..Clean all your connections, use better ant brackets n studs, how old is the coax, were the coax ends done correctly...Try the simple and cheap fixes before you spend big $ on a ant that may not yield any better results..

I have a tunable firestick now. My swr is 1.3 on 19. I'm not familiar with the skipshooter, but the extra 2 foot certainly couldn't hurt. I'll do a little looking into them before I make any purchase.
