    Also straps staying on winches leaves the hook ends exposed to a lot more uv light and road crap right around the loop that's sewed thru the hook. Now, maybe that doesn't cause premature decomposition: but I've convinced myself it can't be better to leave them on than taking them off n storing them when not in use.

    I always thought it was just the larger companies being too cheap to put a box on the trailer

    IMG_1833.JPG The guy I'm leased to makes his company drivers keep them on the winches. He said the winches work their way to the tires and chew them up. I roll my straps up, store them in my rack and bungee the winches together in the center of the trailer.
