Hi fellow truckers,
I'm a new flatbed driver that's about to be assigned my truck with Maverick Transportation. I've been looking around and the cheapest parking I can find west of Chicago is $150 a month. You guys think that's the best I can do or is There somewhere cheaper that you may know of? I looked into the Walmarts by me and they'll have nothing to do with me.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
Cassius

If it's somewhat "secured" and readily accessible on your time, and you can feel good about leaving your vehicle there while your out, and you feel comfortable with the location and people, that's probably as good as you're going to find money-wise, especially if you're talking most weekends and maybe in between a few times as well.

for how many days a month?

Ok STexan. Thanks for the input!

Hi againstthewind,
I'm currently looking at parking on the weekends. Could be less because some times I may get hung out. -
Might be best to go with what you have, at least for the time being. I can't really think of anyplace in Downers like what you're looking for, and the closest truck stop (sort of) I can think of would be the Amerifreight right off of 294 by North Ave (or maybe Balmoral, I can't remember for sure). There are always spots available to park there but it's pay to park, $20 a night.
iCassius Thanks this. -
You should see if maverick has a customer that would allow you to park there.Otherwise find a truckstop outside of Chicago that would let you park there while on home time. You would have around a 10 mile drive but that's better then using your hard earned money paying by the month for trk storage.

Where is west? Aurora, Rochelle?
$150 a month is about right for secured parking, and is cheaper than Amerifreight, off of North, not Balmoral.Suspect Zero Thanks this. -
check craigslist, under parking and storage

sometimes the big U-Haul centers have enough room. The one near me will let a driver park his truck for a price. (just my $0.02)
iCassius Thanks this.
