Gordon is a good company to work for (based on talking to there drivers) and you live in OREGON... They have alot of loads running Washing, Oregon and California plus alot of dedicated routes, and if Gordon doesnt work for you, try IDC (Interstate Dist.) You live in a good corridor for freight running on I-84.... Good Luck

I will graduate truck-driving school soon and hope to be hired by Gordon. In fact, I am now working on their application. Based on what I've read and heard, Gordon has a very good reputation and that is why I'm shooting for them.

Unfortunately, during the past year, I was involved in two (2) incidents while driving:

    1. I backed in to a vehicle (I know....What a dummy I was) that was parked behind me at an intersection. No police report was taken, although my insurance was notified and paid the claim for damages to both vehicles.

    2. I hit a female pedestrian who ran in front of my vehicle, after I had completed a turn and cleared an intersection. Thank goodness, I was only driving about 20 MPH. She came out of nowhere. The first thing I noticed was her face on my windshield. Witnesses stated that she came out of nowhere and I had no chance to avoid her. She was transported to the hospital and, according to the police report, was released a couple of hours later, uninjured.

Neither incident appears on the "court copy" of my driving history - it is clear.

My question for current/previous Gordon drivers is: Based on your experience with Gordon, what do you believe my chances are?

I am 35 years-old. I am not a drinker or a drugger. I have no criminal history. I've had no moving violations since 1994.

This is my first post on this forum, so I apologize for its length. I appreciate, in advance, any feedback or advice you offer.

You really need to call Gordon (recruiter) and tell them your situation. They would probably be able to tell you over the phone if you have a good chance or if they would not be able to hire you. Usually tickets and accidents go through SAFETY DEPT. Good Luck
