Pride Transport, Inc. - Salt Lake City, Ut.?

They are indeed owned by an England son, Jeff. They made 85 million in 2006. Jay England, son of Jeff, is some mucky muck in the company today. When I started with C.R. England back in 2004/5 (one of several mistakes I have made in life), Jay England was in the CDL testing class at the same time I was. He wasn't going through the school, he was just testing to get his CDL. BTW, boy was he a little hottie. Today, not so much.

Anyway, back in the day Pride use to be a quality company with BIG trucks with BIG hoods, that all ran fast. Use to be all KW W-900 & Petes. When I drove for them you could leave the yeard unless your truck was washed and wheels polished. Then they started getting Freightshaker Classics, and then..... now it is no more. Of course back then they had less then 50 trucks. Today, I am not sure how many they have, but I am sure that they have grown.

My opinion of the company? Well not good. They fired me. So, I guess I am a little jaded like that.

Cricket Campbell, the drivers relations manager met me at the gate one day when I pulled into the yard and asked for my fuel card. She told me to come in a see her after I parked. I did, and she fired me. When I asked why she said "Utha is a right to work state, we don't have to give you a reason." So I cleaned out their truck and went on about life. The reality of it was that I was too honest with an insurance claims adjuster. I had a load of Dryers Ice Cream melt on me about 2 weeks prior because thier refer malfuntioned, and I was sleeping. When I woke up, it was too late. I told the claims adjuster exactly what happend, and I was told some slug in dispatch "you didn't have to be that honest".

Whatever.

I just saw the chicken/egg controversy - too bad its a year since the last posting. I can settle the whole CRE vs. mormon argument right now. I have it on good authority that the CR England family owns the Mormon church. Rumor has it the England family is looking to buy a small island nation with a simular name from which they will eventually rule the world! The simular name should save countless $$$$ on new towel monograms.

well thay are not tightwads and people quit here because thay just want to sit i worked there 3 yrs and ran hard and made 68,475 in 2007 i left to be home in tx so but thay ant bad and jeff england does not have anything to do with england when it comes to running the place so check it out you allway get your money with out asking im out

You could do far worse then Pride and I agree they are not run like CRE.

I know a husband and wife team that started working for them back in the early 90's and until I lost touch with them in 2002 they were still working there and happy.

 

I talked to a fellow at a TA and he said he loved them. Only gripe was they turned his truck down from 75 to 65.

 

Anyone know who their main accounts are with, and where they mainly run?

 

thay do costco out of slc to vegas stores ,smiths bakary out of layto to krogers all over most of the running lanes are ca tx nv ut anb less then 1/2 east .alot of produce out of ca pays good 100.00 a pic on top of your other pay so its ok
