I am a self proclaimed fitness buff. I do calisthenics almost everyday. I have been driving for 15 years now an have seen only a hand full of drivers who exercise. I wonder why more drivers dont, the benefit you get from exercise are beneficial to your work.1st benefit you are more alert because you naturally increase your metabolism.2nd you build muscle which in turn burns fat 3rd your good hormones increase (testosterone)bad hormones decrease(estrogen). I get funny looks sometimes, when I pull my dumbbells from my side box an start exercising, but the benefit are too good for me stop, because of a few stares. My favorite exercise is called the burpee(search burpee an you will see how it is done) excellent exercise for building muscle an burning fat. I run just as hard as anyone else. Just my 2 cents I believe drivers would be in better moods if they exercised ,because your hormones become more balanced. THIS IS NOT A BASH ON PEOPLE WHO DONT EXERCISE.

Well I agree about excersize. The other reason that you will want to do it is to help prevent DVT's (deep vein thrombosis') or blood clots in the legs.
Sitting for more than 4 hours greatly increases your chance of developing DVT which can be fatal.
Just a little bit a day can be a life saver.easy duz it and Lil Joe Thank this. -
I am not a fitness buff. But I am not lazy either. I do my regular stops, often even if it is just to do a walk around the truck. I see many drivers get up in the morning and drive away never even getting out of there truck. I also wonder why more drivers don't exercise at all or do so little. (from what I see) I also get funny looks sometimes even when I am walking around at a rest area.

To benifit from exercise you should do atleast 30 min.
I got that from a guy that was told that by a doctor because he had blood clot issues.
