Sometimes there isn't anything that can be done other than replacing the PS. The wall wart EMI isn't as bad as dc to dc converters used in these cheap lighter plug units.

When I had the Flex, I had nothing but issues with EMI of all sorts, gave up on the Flex, sold it and put the money into another SDR which has not had the issues of the flex.

If they're 12v warts, the best thing you can do is cutting off the power cords and hooking them to a good linear supply. (I'm using an Astron 50VM). It is definitely harder in a mobile installation. That said, I'm absolutely amazed at what I'm seeing in my wife's Cherokee with the Stryker 447HPC2 kludge-wired to the front cig-lighter outlet. It's the quietest, most sensitive, CB I've ever seen, once I'm out of town and away from noise sources. I swear it must have a -130db or better noise floor.

Wall-wart...low voltage switching supply built into a cube that plugs into the AC mains.

I'm not really suggesting that it was lowered. That's not easily done on a properly designed radio, and I doubt the Walcott guys have that ability. I won't pass judgement on Mark Sherman. Maybe he can do it, maybe not, and maybe most CBs and 'exports' are so poorly designed that such a thing is easily possible. What I am saying is that the 447HPC2, in my particular installation, is a most excellent radio for what it is. It's far better on 27.185 than my IC-7100 in the Wrangler, on that particular frequency, but then the Stryker doesn't let me check into MidCars or the Maritime Mobile Service Net, work CW DX on 30m, or hit the DStar repeater on 2m. When it comes to real ham radio gear, you can always read Rob Sherwood's test results which show true lab performance done by a professional who's been doing it for years, and has been recognized industry wide for his work.

Why did you give up on the Flex? Just curious, as I have a friend(x) that had a 3000. He liked it except for the firewire BS.

That's why, I have an Ethernet connection with this sdr that works so much better without the lag times.
