Volvo 630 mid roof. Concrete filled shock absorbers. 1959 Mack cabover. 5/2 duplex tranny. No power anything. No air. No brakes on steers. Took one drive in that one (belonged to a friend of mine) and learned appreciation for modern equipment. Freightliner FLD120. Steering linkage made of overcooked spaghetti. Brakes were a request filled independently by each wheel, on its own timetable. Super 10 transmission. Shifter linked to a pot of the dough used to make the spaghetti for the steering. Freightliner Century. Frankentruck. Made out of parts from four other Century class trucks, all different years and colors (that one was my training truck).

I'm kind of okay with a rough ride except things keep shaking loose.

The company has order a couple dozen of the new (2018) redesigned Cascadias. Ima try and get one of the first batch. Might be out of luck though since my Mack won't be rotated out for another year or so.

They wanted you back. The least they can do is give you a nice truck.

Well, the Mack is pretty nice (for a Mack). The veteran drivers (you know, the guys and gals who DIDN'T go away for a while) get dibs on the new trucks. I got no problem with that.

    Pintlehook Thanks this.
