I'm looking for some inside information on Cypress Trucking in Jacksonville, Florida. Are they a good company to work for, what they pay per mile, those types of things.
Thanks,

Cypress Truck Lines: Bad for Newbies, Great Weight Loss Plan -
I have worked for Cypress for about 5 years. Since I don't trust mangement and they may read this form, I will be careful. You do not get home every weekend or even close. You do not get home for a whole weekend when you get home. You get home for 34 hours only. If you need to be home for a whole weekend you have to take vacation the Friday before at times. You have to check and be sure you are paid for everything or you will be short. According to mangement NO one got a raise this year. We have been shorted out bounus also. You MUST keep track and follow up on everything!! Vacation, bonus, pay, milege, rasies everything. I stay because I have a family I have to support and changing jobs and going without pay is not an option.
Hope this help. -

I worked for Cypress back in 99/2000. It sounds like they haven't changed at all. Crappy trucks, bad bennies, but I did get home almost every weekend. Usually home friday evening and back out Sunday afternoon.

I should be going to orientation next week. I graduate school this week and find out Friday when my orientation day is. I'll keep you posted.

There's a thread called "starting orientation/training next week" in the Flatbed forum that has recent post from truckers starting with Cypress Truck Lines. Check it out it's good info.

My mistake the thread is called "florida local jobs or home weekends". Sorry about that.
