Looking at possibly doing ether one of these products NOT both. Needing opinions on these. I see minimizer makes both kinds. Your thoughts. Thank you.

I take it you never will change trailers?
-
Won't say never. You never know
-
Then I would guess having it on your fifth wheel would be better.
-
If it bolts to truck fifth wheel there not bad. The ones that weld on are terrible, a real pain to change. Ive also used the ones that slide over kingpin, they are sometimes hard to hook up by yourself but possible. The ones that bolt on the trailer seem to get ripped or bolts break out early. Im a mechanic not a full time driver, just my observations.

If you get a chance look at minimizer they have a trailer plate that is held on by a retaining clip. It's on youtube.

I have the poly plates on my 5th wheel. I still grease it... it's too grabby for my liking.
If you use either, the kingpin still needs grease. -
I would not use a plastic 5th wheel. Stay away from those.
Plates I have used when you never disconnect... when it starts acting up in rain and fails to turn a corner pushing oversteer then I grease it. -
You must like too change steer tires alot. I grease 5th wheel once a week or every two weeks -
Nope. The steer tires are the two items least changes in all my years on the road. I get a new pair of steers every year first frost for winter battle on request with 8 new drives put on roughly mid october. FFE gave me a new set every October going on three years. That's about 12000 dollars worth of love and preventative maintaince and defends against towing possibly.
I have wrecked three steers in my time. One was a bad steel belt which failed under ice manuvering, another vs a railroad switch, switch won. Destroyed front end of the mack and a third going up against a really large anti vehicle ditch poured by PENNDOT to prevent me from going that way. All I will say is that the pins in the tandems are very very strong.
