Thats the doozy I think simply because it isnt multiple choice or fill in the bank. Hubby flunked the first time, honestly it was nervousness. The second time he knew the situation and he said that he imagined he rattled off things that the guy had never heard of before. Heres what I told hubby...maybe all could use it also. When studying for the pretrip, look at the truck from front to back top to bottom, innermost to outermost and then one side at a time. Start in the front, go from top to bottom, Section it off, next part will be from bumper to driver door (be prepared to actually point and touch what you are telling the instructor), move on back to tandem area, again from top to bottom, inner to outer, move along that way. Hubby had a good instructor and when he got to the back of the trailer the instructor stopped him and said you gonna do that for the other side? Hubby said yep! The instructor passed him. Oh yeah, know your 7 step air brake test frontwards, backwards, inside and out.
Yeppers, they gonna see if you are using your thinker. Take your time, read the questions and answer first. Then go back read the question, get a mental picture of what its talking about (the computer tests will sometimes have a little pic) and then decide which answer fits the best. Some questions will have what seems to be 2 possibilities, thats when you reread again and really think it out and finally answer the one that is the BEST!
Good luck to all you guys.
