Duck and chicken eggs are about the same size.
Goose and turkey eggs are bigger by 2 or 3 times the size of a chicken egg.
We had chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys when i was kid.
Goose and turkey eggs were richer, duck eggs did'nt notice much difference. -
Yeah but they are not as good to eat
So most people use them for baking -
We didn't eat duck or goose eggs even though we had some at the farm for a short time. They do have some of the chickens that lay the eggs with the green shells though, and have had for several years. We get pretty funny reactions over those.
Green eggs and ham anyone? -
What about Brown eggs? Is there any difference in taste?
-
No difference in taste on any of them. The brown eggs are usually a slight bit smaller, but not by much.

This Sam will pass on Green Eggs and Ham.
Ok so the mentality of this Egg thing has gotten worse especially when yall are referring to them as Chicken Eggs. I know, they are chicken eggs but putting the word chicken in front of the word eggs almost gives it a whole new meaning. "I think Imma go fix me a scrambled chicken egg?" Oh Yucky! -
White, brown and green eggs are all the same on the inside as far as looks and nutrition. Araucanas are the South American bird that lays the green eggs but there are many breeds that lay white and brown eggs. As chickens get older their eggs get larger and production decreases. Some breeds produce a clean egg and others produce an egg with a little blood spot which is normal. You can literally get baby chicks in the mail--they're sent out (overnighted) the day they're hatched. Eggs are very good for you, even the yolks. If you eat too many they're bad; if you eat in moderation they're good. Life seems to work that way in general.

That's how my grandma and uncle (the ones running the family farm) get their baby chicks every year - in the mail! The female chickens join the rest of the flock in the fall and the roosters become dinner!
-
That's the logical way to approach it. Just avoid naming those cute little chicks when you get them or they'll turn into pets. And be prepared to take out the rooster if he turns mean. Anyone who's had chickens has a chicken story and so here's mine: I was working in my orchard when I stopped to look down at the garden (my house is on a hill with the orchard up top and the garden below) and noticed the rooster watching my father-in-law who was raking leaves on the opposite end of the yard, probably about 50 yards away from the rooster (an Araucana). The rooster ran about 10 yds toward my father-in-law who thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye but when he turned around all he saw was a rooster pecking the ground. After he went back to raking leaves, the rooster then ran another 20 yds before my father-in-law looked up again and saw the rooster just pecking the ground again. He went back to raking but quickly turned back around only to find the rooster flying though the air, spurs first. You can only imagine the fight that took place which involved kicking and rakes, especially when you consider that a rooster will keep coming at you until physically he is so tired that he has to stop to catch is breath. It was a pretty #### funny picture. And I never underestimated the inteligence of that rooster again. Felt kinda bad when I had to chop his head off but my kids were young at the time and I would've felt worse if one of them lost an eye.
