Does Heartless have APUs? One of my instructors in school mentioned that they don't allow idling, and possibly no APus. -- Just curious.

The old gordon trucks do but u won't get one of those.
The shakers have opti idle and the internationals have a battery pack style apu. Some just have a bunk heater and no a/c

Are there any veteran truck drivers that have been with Heartland Express for any number of years?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Of course. There's plenty of people been there 5 plus years. Got a handful of million miller's. And 2 that have 3 million and another that's almost at the 3 mil mark. Most of these folks r pretty institutionalized and afraid of change so they stick around

Have heard the same from a Watkins & Shepherd driver after that company was acquired by Schneider National. Most of their veteran drivers are leaving.

Hi folks, Rob here—with Heartland Express. As you all know, the best feedback and company review you can get is from your fellow driver. As it relates to some of the commentary, we're turning over a new leaf and are here to answers questions as fast and as best we can.

As I stated in another thread, I'm not here to monitor what folks have to say (positive or negative) about our company. We're not going to get in the way. I'm logged in to serve as a resource and to provide answers to your questions whenever possible.

Please feel welcome to reach out at any time. We're here to serve.

I'll do my best to answer your questions and comments in an immediate fashion. Though, sometimes due to the volume of social channels I am actively participating, it can take 24-48 hours to respond.

    Cheers,
    Rob at Heartland Express

Hey Rob never met you. Can u tell Todd he strikes me as a huge tool? O and Kurt S up in Dispatch...probably one of the worst human beings I've ever incountered in my life. Would starve me for miles, berate me when I asked for more, lie about everything, and was a huge control freak and an ego maniac. Got in one argument with him and next 2 weeks got around 1200 miles each, or about 300 bucks after taxes (bet ol mike gerden got a good laugh signing that check) I had a pregnant wife at home and it really set us back. All because he had to feel lik he was in control. Tell you what you wanna turn over a new leaf? Get that lying prick out of dispatch. Let him mow the lawn and drive around the yard in that chevy pick up with that toothless ex driver that's 100 years old.

At Heartland I took home on average 550-650 after taxes. New company about 950 after taxes. Nuff said

**o, and I don't sit and wait for hours for a load, get forced to drive all night, have to sit through the inspection Bay for half the day, get told I can't run a load I have to drop on the yard, get told I can't go to California...I could keep going but u get the message. Want to work for the opitamy of "big box trucking" Heartland expresses door is ALWAYS open. (Because it's cheaper to treat a driver lik crap and pay him lik crap then replace him when he quits than to actually treat him right and retain him) isn't that right ROB?

    cheers...
