Off Duty or Not?

    I heard one guy carried a peice of plywood and put it accross the seats and logged it as sleeper birth untill he got popped for it.
    They asked how can you sleep in a sleeper birth and not have one he pulled out his board and said like this.

    Some companies actually do pay you for having to sleep in the truck. It's like $25. or some small amount. I used to work for a company that paid me $25. for not staying in a motel. If you will do things for free trucking companies will sure let you.

    A piece of plywood between the seats of a day cab does not meet the requirements of a sleeper berth at 393.76......sorry, when you do this you can be placed out of service for a false log when you log in the sleeper berth when you don't have one
