That's exactly why I no longer attend indoor movies; always some clown talking loud trying to be a comedian making comments about the movie. The idiots that laugh at him are just as ignorant.

Yup - happened to me when I worked for Pride Transport.
These rats manage to be amusing and pathetic at the same time. It's a special gift, really.Rusty Trawler, Toomanybikes, Suspect Zero and 1 other person Thank this. -
I wonder what they get out of it. Are they paid to report things?
-
In my time @ Big Blue I heard tell of 'bounties'... While I never encountered such an event, I'm sure there were guys out there for it.

Some outfits may have a reward system in place, like KillingTime mentioned.
In other cases, these rats probably want to score brownie points with the office boys. When they rat out a fellow driver within the same company, they'll appear more loyal and thus be rewarded with sweeter runs.
Obviously, this strategy can back fire in several ways, not the least of which the very same office boys will now think less of the drivers for being rats. After all, if they snitch on a driver for a trivial offense, whose to say they won't snitch on a dispatcher or planner for a similarly trivial offense...?
But these rats are too stupid to see the big picture. That's why I called them pathetic and amusing.
And there could be other more subtle intrinsic motivations. The act of ratting someone out, even for silly things, makes some people feel superior because they're "doing things the right way."Last edited: Apr 14, 2017
Heathar, Toomanybikes and Suspect Zero Thank this. -
Btw, if rat lovers out there want to shame me for driving without the tails deployed, I was very light on that particular trip and there was a high-wind advisory. So, in my calculation, not having them deployed was the right move.
Leftlane101 and fargonaz Thank this. -
That's greasy af.
When I was driving I would NEVER blow past a driver on the same team. That just wasn't done back then.
Some of my driving was pre-Qualcomm and pre-cellphone. Back then you'd stop to find out what was wrong so you could go up to the next exit where you could find a payphone to call the dispatcher.
See Wikipedia if you don't know what a payphone is. I'd link the article myself but I don't know how.....?

I suspect that there is a bounty, but I can't confirm it.

#### straight! It used to be that way with drivers, but appears to have gone away, now it's screw whoever for a few pieces of silver...

This may be true with smaller outfits, but I seriously doubt it is the case with the mega carriers. The desk jockey answering the phone can't even put a face with the truck number of the driver who is calling in. Also, as a rule of thumb, no individual driver is ever truly rewarded for his loyalty to a mega. So, the idea of ratting on a co-worker/fellow driver for the intention of boosting one's own status is completely pointless.51.50 Thanks this.
