this seems like a case of an asset light broker wishing for a way into a shipper that requires more than a promise of trucks will be found or most likely a shipper that can not be bothered with loading times you know they want the easy life just send yard mule to the trailer pool load it then call broker at the end of day or in the morning saying that these trailer numbers are loaded for these destinations easy peasy for the shipping manager but the short answer is NO not dropping my well maintained trailer with almost new michelin tires and then have no idea when I get it back- not happening

i would be more inclined to fill my trailer with water and use it as a pool than to put it in a pool for random people to pull it.

Sounds like someone trying to get something for nothing. What's next? Should we start pooling our girlfriends/boyfriends? 'Sharing' has become a dirty word. Whenever I hear the word I start running because it always seems that I end up getting stuck with the short end of the stick. In short, when I hear the 'share' word, I think 'steal'. The Poles have a good proverb for this: "Things that are guarded by everybody soon disappear".

I don't think so. For that simple reason that some have new trailers or taken care of (tires, brakes, floor, cleanness). Some others, have crap. LOL Why do I even type this?

I haul for a broker who has his own trailers. Well maintained I might add. He has gradually increase the fleet. And he has NEVER asked any of the O/O to use our trailers in any pool. But he does take an extra 5% when we use his trailers. But also we can backhaul and find other freight in his trailer and we won't be charged a dime. The loads we pull are 90% time loaded. So to the OP, tell your manager to stop being so cheap and start buying trailers a few at a time and to stop asking you to post ridicules question on here.

The same can happen to any trailer no matter who owns it.
