Makes sense when you think about. The tank is tilted backwards for rear unload. That's where the air space is. The rear is full of product. As it gets pumped off the vacuum is created at the front of the tank.

You would think they would come up with a safety valve for this. We have them in cryogenics but instead of vacuume it's for pressure. If the vessel riches a certain psi the first valve activates to get your attention, if you still do nothing the second safety will rupture and that's that.

All tanks made after 1995 have pressure relief valves.
But like you said nothing to prevent imploding a tank

I guess they could but it would be difficult to prevent contamination. Tanks often get into vacuum states as they cool. Any vacuum release type valve could risk letting contaminating air into a sealed tank

But a contaminated tank would still be cheaper then this.

In cryogenics when the main safety or burst disk ruptures you still have one more with a cross over valve. If you blow that one too your dead in the water, but better then a blown open trailer.

It has been good. Gets really repetitive and easy after a while.
