Nope, l/p is generally for guy with no down payment and or bad or no credit that feel they can take a short cut. I don't have any hard numbers but I would bet my next check against a dollar that for every one that is successful 100 fail, it's not always their fault, the whole l/p scam is designed that way, also if they are not able handle household finances how can they be expected to run a truck.

While I'm thinking about it the Mickey D franchisee has to put up 1 million for the exclusive territory, how much does the l/p put up? Oh that's right nothing.

First of all your logic is so far out there it's unbelievable as I can tell you right now running any business Trucking or not more people fail then they do succeed so you using that point to try to make a point is irrelevant

it's really simple, with a business you roi, with a l/p there is no roi, you leave with what you started with nothing.

@p608 Ok, I get it, we're being trolled here. Right? Lol, hahaha, that's pretty funny. Ok, we can all laugh at my gullibility.

Now, if your comments were serious say so and I'll address them, otherwise, I"ll drop this dog and pony show.

I agree that a lot of L/P are scams. Most of them aren't even a true lease purchase. The ones set up where the drivers pays 200k over three years and told to give up the truck for a new one or pay 50k for the title is a scam and just plain wrong.

I also agree that a lot of people fail at L/P or straight lease. But so do a lot of O/O. And it's because they can't handle the cost control that is needed. So your point on that is mute.

I also agree that if you can't get your own finanes in order you have no business doing a L/P or buying a truck via any other means.

I made some mistake with credit when I was younger. A lot of people do. But a lot of that has to do with today's society of gotta have everything now; oh look they are going to give me a credit card to pay for what I want now and not even asking if I have a job. I have fixed a lot of it already. I have learned that lesson and JCT does report on time payments to the credit agencies once a quarter so it actually helps your credit rating. Besides a bank or dealership, not many companies that I'm aware of do that for you.

You will never see me going around trying get people to do a lease purchase. It's hard and a lot of people don't want hard. They don't understand that it's hard. When I get people coming up to me asking about the company the very first thing I tell them is we don't have company drivers and it's all L/P and O/O (yes we have O/O here but I guess they're not really O/O if I were to believe you) and 99% of the time they thank me and say it's not want they want. Only about 1% actually ask more questions. I give the up front answers and even then 99% of those people no longer want to do it. The other 1% are still interested enough to talk to other drivers, continue research or call.

The return on my investment is title in hand and will continue to run the truck 100% paid off. And invest money back into to keep it the excellent running truck it is today.

So, how much is JCT paying per mile these days ? I remember several years ago it was $.90 /mile plus fuel surcharge.
