15+ Tickets? And he was trying to be a O/O, let alone still a Driver?

I'm 43 and been driving only four years about. Never had a Ticket in my life. How does one get 15+?

I did predict him quitting mid last year.

On April 14th ( or there about's) my company called me and informed me that there were shutting the doors! Definitely something I thought was going to happen... 18 Mo's to go an the truck/trailer would have been mine,,,####! Ok, trucking has left a bad taste in my mouth so, I am done! Will no longer be driving a big rig over the road or local. I have worked hard for 8 years to secure my future as a professional driver to no avail so, time to move on with something new, again! I have put in app's with the county road commission, local land fill and another company diving dump or trash trucks. Boy, things sure have changed in the area of finding a job. Go on line and search, find a job, send a resume and no call back for 4 weeks now. That is okay, been enjoying the time at home with wife and grand daughter, and got a cash gig with a friend that pays the bills...

I want to thank all of you that have given me advice over the last 8 years, put up with my crap and taken some of my advice in return. I pray you all have a profitable year and a safe one too...God bless

Well it seems there's a lot of bad news hitting the funny papers today. I hope your new direction works out better for you.

Most of all, thanks for posting and sharing the bad news. Not just the final straw, but all the bumps in the road along the way. In my opinion, there's not enough of that, and it results in a falsely optimistic vision of what it takes to make this kind of business work.

Okay, I am Back! I admit if I would have a found a 7-3 job, getting me home everyday and off on the weekends, and paid enough to pay my bill's every month, I would have taken the job. But, there are no jobs out there that pay what I need so, I looked for a driving job and found one with the land fill, driving a garbage truck. Holy Sheep batman, that is work for sure. Paid good but made me work too fast so, it caused a couple of problems. I left there and went to work for a company moving container's. It pays real good and even though I don't get home every night, I like the work. What I don't like and will not put up with is ELog's. As anyone that knows me, knows that I am not the two log book guy so don't even go there. It has to do with control more than anything. So, I decided to buy another truck, this time cash, no lease. The truck is bought, paid for and mine now. What is it you ask? It is a 1984 International 9670 and I love it! I have to be honest though, I bought site-unseen just this past Friday. In about 3 weeks I am going to get it shipped to the nearest to me shop, where it will get checked out thoroughly and all repairs done at that time Anyone live in MI that has a shop suggestion? Anyway, sorry for not being more involved with TTR but I really got fedup when I lost the truck in April of last year. I had to go on a soul finding mission, just to find out that I can not get the diesel out of my blood. To all you nay-sayer's,,,I don't harbor any ill will towards you. To all those that actually cared, thanks. HOOAH!!!

ELD's are no more "control" over any Driver than Paper-Logs are. It always cracks me up whenever I hear anti-ELD rants. By the end of this year everyone will be on them (thank God). With the Companies I have driven with, I can pretty much do the same things with ELD's (Edits/ODD) that Paper Logers can do, if needed. One can still get in over 3400 miles in a weeks time too (who would want more?). Actually, ELD's are much easier and better (if understood) than Paper Logs.

When are folks like yourself ever going to learn that every Human is not the same as YOU sir? No one said anything about how many miles you can get using ELD's vs Paper, or how much "control" ELD's vs Paper have over a driver. In the end, all control is in the drivers hands. It is the lie of control that I refer to. Just the facts sir, just the facts, is all we are referring to, so get yours correct. Let's start with an easy one; ELD's will NOT make roads safer, but instead will make roads more unsafe. Let's start there ok, and lets also try to be civil while we are at it. Happy Easter
