E logs all the way. I make better money the last handful of years on E logs then I ever did with paper logs. Only 1 time did a DOT officer say show me your logs when I said I'm on electronic. I showed my screen and that was the end of that I was on my way.
ELD Are there any silver linings

Guidance
By issuing new guidance, FMCSA has moved to remove this confusion. Published in the Federal Register this week, the guidance is not in the form of a formal regulation but instead gives a general overview of how enforcement officials should view electronic logs.
The app or program must allow for electronic signing. Naturally, this is easier on a smartphone or tablet than on a laptop as they have touch screens. If electronic signing is not possible, the driver must print the log and sign it by hand. Law enforcement has been directed to give drivers an opportunity to do this when inspecting an unsigned electronic log.
The app or program must store log pages so that a law enforcement officer can see at least seven days of records. Alternatively, the driver must be able to print seven days’ worth of information upon request of law enforcement. -

As far as that cohesive community goes... it was a nice tight nit bunch, as long as you went with the majority. If you dared to go on your own and run when or where teamsters said you shouldn't you risked getting shot.Last edited: Apr 23, 2017

If im stuck in traffic for an hour or 2 at 4pm then im not going to log it that way, im still going to drive the extra 2 hrs and get where i was supposed to be. BUT the ELD will tell me i went 2 hrs over and there is nothing i can do to change that fact.
2- if im sitting at Wallmart, Amazon, or somewhere and dropped the trailer for a few hours, i go in the sleeper, but if i moved the truck to say drive around the warehouse to chek on my trailer or use the bathroom the ELD just put to driving, i would never do that.
So tell me again how the ELD is great??????Joetro Thanks this.
